About a year ago I started looking into a way of tagging my videos with a program extension called stagsi and some alternatives and got sidetracked due to life events for about 8 months and I’m trying to refigure things out. I did it entirely on a win 10 laptop and have since built a win 11 desktop (which does not yet have stagsi, so I know it’s not the cause).
What I noticed is that if I make a playlist, the chapter keys don’t work (they did on the laptop in the past). It reads my keyboard just fine and changes the displayed hotkey to whatever I set it to, but then I go back in the program and pressing the hotkey does nothing. Other hotkeys to jump around with the arrows with or without ctrl and shift work fine, p and n to navigate between media work as well. Only the chapter ones seem to have an issue and it’s the same on both machines.
I reset preferences, reinstalled vlc, tried a variety of different hotkey commands, no luck. I checked my human interface device settings per a help article I found, they are correct.
We just host the addons for VLC. If you’re having issues with VLC or it’s addons I suggest asking in the official VLC fourms: https://forum.videolan.org/
It took me here, but I followed your link. Having issues getting it to setup an account nto post there. Says I have one, but I don’t.
Since this is more addons, do you have any advice on what to look at for the tagging? my goal is to take instructional videos, label key sections with tags, and then be able to search the tags and have it create a playlist file with those tags and run through it as chapters and want to be able to loop the chapters it pulls together. At one point I had a command working for this (possibly on android, I’ll have to check) that a mmo mouse had a programmed button that did chapter forward, start loop, somehow added end loop at the end of the chapter, and then repeated until I hit it again. I want that again.
