Hi, I added a new version of a product and Discover correctly shows it as update. However, when installing the update through Discover, the old version 1.1 is being installed. How does the release need to be labelled so that it gets installed correctly?
The version looks correct 1.1 to 1.2 to 1.2.1, so I’m not sure why Discover is updating to 1.1. This is something you’ll probably need to bring up with the KDE team on their bug tracker. You can report it at Log in to KDE Bugtracking System. If you don’t have an account, let me know and I’ll report it.
Hey justinz, thanks for your quick reply. I don’t have an account and would be grateful for you to report it. I am using Discover 5.27.11
Btw, I just booted and Discover showed me an update. But the version numbers are messed up somehow, see below. After upgrading, again version 1.1 was installed
The original bug report is from 2022… That does not sound like it gets fixed anytime soon…
Also, I guess many packages are affected with old versions being installed.
It mentiones the first file being picked. So how about opendesktop returning the list of files, so that the newest (in terms of date or versioning) active file is first. I guess it’s this API:
