Questions regarding the comment section

I came across a few questions regarding the comment section:

  • How to format text in the comment section of a product? Unformatted text is really difficult to read.
  • Does New Users still apply nowadays? I recently saw a new user who commented on the very day they joined.
  • Editing comments is not possible and obviously never was. Likewise there is no reply on Editing comments not allowed? Any feedback would be appreciated.

thanks for bringing these up – good questions all around.

Text formatting in comments: You’re right that this is missing, and honestly we were a bit surprised ourselves that it hasn’t been added yet. We’re planning to integrate a Markdown parser, so formatted comments should be coming.

New users commenting: Yes, the restrictions mentioned in that post have been relaxed. We’ve since moved to algorithmic spam detection instead of hard account-age rules. It’s still a work in progress and not perfect, but we’re actively improving it.

Editing comments: Also a fair point – this is something we’d like to add. No ETA yet, but it’s on our radar.
