Problems with changing login screen

I am new here, but I am at my wits end.

I run Debian stretch on my pro 3 tablet, with a plasma desktop. Newer distributions tend to hang on the device, so I am stuck.

I want to use a nice sddm login screen rather than the default that comes with the distribution. I get an error message with anything with sddm in the name.

/usr/share/sddm/themes/*sddm/Main.qml:20:1: module “QtQuick” version 2.8 is not installed

Searching for this error I find a lot of developers with issues building apps. Can’t find anything like my problem.

If anyone here can help me, that would be awesome. If I should post elsewhere, point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

Essentially, I would like to know how to get module “QtQuick” version 2.8 (or equivalent) for my Debian Stretch distribution. Can’t figure out which package(s) I need to install.
